I’ll reveal more about the brands I plan to carry in the coming weeks, as we get closer to launch. I’m so hyped about the labels I’ve purchased; most of them are unknown but I really think they will be the next big thing. But it’s in my nature to always think ahead; my mind is going “what’s next?”. I can’t wait to buy for summer and I hope I’ll still be in business be able to expand and take on at least two new labels. Read on to see what lines I’m dying to get on my racks!

1. Nancy Rose – I came across this line while I was at one of the showrooms buying a different line and I’ve become obsessed with it! I think this is their first collection, because I can’t find much else about it, but it’s a strong first impression; very wearable but not too safe. There was a high waisted skirt that I absolutely fell in love with. Nancy Rose is at the top of my list.

2. Rochelle Rodriguez - I probably would have bought this for Spring if I had actually been able to get in touch with the rep. But still, this line is so young, fresh and hip. I think I’m drawn to it because it’s the epitome of my own style. I am a bit concerned about having too many dresses so hopefully there will be tons of tops as a part of their summer collection.

3. Rami Kashou - Yes, I found out about him through Project Runway but I really fell in love with his work before the show even started. His clothing is sophisticated and young without sacrificing one for the other, and that’s hard to do. There’s also so much attention to detail and great construction with every piece, and I’m really a sucker for that.

4. Pink Tartan - I found them at the Brighte trade show in Los Angele. The line is a bit more classic than some of the others, but it can’t all be about trends. Above are just a few of the pieces I fell in love with. What I love the most about this line is how high quality it all looks and the fit appears to be great.

And then there are other designers I would like to carry if/when I launch a brick and mortar store (which won’t be any time soon) such as Iodice, Robert Rodriguez, Sky, Mara Hoffman, Rory Beca and Madison Marcus among others.

So what do you think of these designers? Love the looks? Hate the looks? Feel free to express your opinions.

I absolutely love nancy Rose’s line. This line I would wear everyday as well with the Pink Tartan line. These two lines are great. I love there simplicity but yet they have a wow to them. Something totally different. I can’t wait till you open I will definitely be a top shopper. (: I love your eye for clothes.

I’m loving all 4 of those labels! Their clothing is trendy, chic and seems to be put together as well as very versatile. I cannot wait until you open your boutique. Im a stylist in the Portland, Oregon / Seattle, Washington area and would love to order things from you to use in my photo shoots. We have very similar style :) &I’ve been reading your blog since day 1! I’m wanting to open up my own boutique but I decided to wait 3-4 more years. Keep up the fabulous work!

Thanks Vanessa for your compliments! You work as a stylist? That’s AWESOME, I’ve always wanted to do that! It would be great if you wanted to use some of my clothes. We can probably work something special out for that ;) Be sure to stay in touch!

    Hi
    you have such great eye
the pieces u have selected are all great
Am out of boston MA and i usually travel to LA to all the shows and stuff and i feel like some of these labels are priced way to high even at whole sale

Do u know of any other place that a small store can get access to quality merchandise at reasonable prices?

  6. Kim says:

    ^Thanks Brenda!

I kind of agree, I wish some labels weren’t priced SO high, it’s such a risk when you’re just starting out. I think the most important thing is to look for brands that fit what you want price and style wise, and then go to them. Just do as much research as you can and try and get into some different trade shows. I hope that helps!

Hey, thanks so much for all your helpful information that you share with us and the world. Love the brands you are carrying :) . I have one question, are you housing the merchandise yourself? And what are your views from doing that vs. letting a fullfillment house, house/store the merchandise, and how are you managing doing all the shippment yourself?

  8. Kim says:

^hey Latasha! Ive never heard of a fulfillment house, lol. Right now I’m housing everything. I dont have much merchandise (about 25 styles, 3-5 pieces each) I bought a collapsible rack and I have them all hanging on that, a few things in my closet and a few others in boxes. And Im going to ship everything myself through UPS. Is there some sort of third party that will manage that for you?

Found the same Nancy Rose and got a ton!!! i love it; but am moving and am looking for someone who is interested in purchasing my supply for far below wholesale.
